Since January 2008, the Internationale Academy for Innovative Pedagogy, Psychology and Economics (INA gGmbH) has under the leadership of David Becker provided scientific coaching and evaluation of 34 model projects dealing with Germany as an immigration country. All projects are connected to a program of the German Government to promote diversity and democracy. Through the process of scientific coaching in the form of project visits and workshops on thematic key issues, the projects have the opportunity to reflect and review their approaches.
Germany as an immigration country
The 34 projects that are coached by INA/OPSI can be divided into two main thematic areas: “Intercultural and interreligious learning” and “Dealing with interethnic conflicts”. According to Sibylle Rothkegel who is the leader for this thematic cluster, the model projects are rather heterogeneous. The commonalities are mainly to be found in the projects’ analysis of the problem. They agree that the lack of interaction between members of different groups leads to the strengthening of prejudices and devaluation of the respective other groups. Contact: Sibylle Rothkegel
